About Our Facilities

The Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds is located in the heart of Amish Country and the RV capitol of the world. With over 380 acres and more than 40 buildings, our grounds are open to host RV camping, RV rallies, large corporate events, private meetings, auctions, trade shows, weddings, and receptions. FAQs

Alcohol Restrictions

Is alcohol allowed during our event?

Yes, alcohol may be present during the event with prior permission and contracted security at the event.

Building Access

When can we get the keys to the buildings we rent?

Typically you may pickup the keys in the Fairgrounds office on the day prior to your event between 2PM-5PM EST. If other arrangements need to be made, please contact the Fairgrounds office in advance.

Catering Restrictions

Are there any restrictions on catering?

No we do not have any catering restrictions.

Can we use the kitchen inside our building?

Yes, if a building is rented with a kitchen you are more than welcome to use it during your event.

Who do we contact for additional questions and availability?

Security

Do I need security for my event?

Security is needed if/when alcohol is present during an event. A copy of the security contract needs to be submitted to the Fairgrounds office prior to your event. Some large events with high attendance numbers may be required to provide security as well and if so, will be listed on the conditions of the contract.

Can you provide security for our event?

No, we cannot provide security for your event. However, we have can provide a list of recommended security companies.

Set Up

What is included in your building set ups?

Set up and tear down is performed by the team at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds. Tables, chairs, small stages and in some cases bleachers are available for our guest's use. We can also supply podiums and microphones.

When does my set up need to be submitted to the Fairgrounds office?

The Fairgrounds office asks for a building diagram or list of set up requirements 30 days prior to the event.

What kind of tables do you offer for events?

Clients have an option of 60 inch round tables or 8 ft oblong tables. The quantity of each table type must be submitted at the same time as your setup requirements.

Do we supply our own trash bags during the event?

Our staff fully stocks facility restrooms and places empty trash cans in the building for your event. Basic tear down and clean up is provided by our staff.

Do you offer table cloths or seat covers for an event?

No, we do not offer table cloths or seat covers as part of the facility rental agreement.

Deposit

Is a deposit due to book an event space?

Yes, a deposit is required upon the return of the signed contract. The amount varies and depends on the size of event and the space being used.

Insurance

Do I have to provide insurance when I host an event at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds?

Yes, we require insurance. You can purchase insurance through your insurance agent and ask them to provide us with a certificate of your liability insurance listing us an additional insured, or you can purchase the same coverage through the Fairgrounds. Rates through us start as low as $115.00.

What coverage needs to be shown on the certificate of insurance?

1,000,000 per occurrence
2,000,000 aggregate
